摘要: 人体呼出气体中化合物的检测为确定人体生理状态、诊断疾病或评估环境暴露提供了新的方法。随着代谢组学研究的进展,有了新的工具来探究人类的呼吸代谢的状况。尽管在采样和分析方面存在一些显著的挑战,呼气仍然是代谢组学应用的理想介质,最主要的原因是其无创、方便和几乎无限的可用性。目前已经建立了几种针对内源性或外源性气相化合物的基于呼吸的测试方法,并在实际和/或临床中使用。本文概述了呼吸分析的概念及独特的测试方法及应用,对每个测试中针对呼吸生物标志物分别讨论了其在人体中的生理生产和相关测试的发展和实施,并对未来呼吸研究的方向进行了展望。

Abstract: The detection of compounds in human exhaled breath provides new methods for determining human physiological state, diagnosing disease or assessing environmental exposure. Advances in metabolomics research have enabled new tools to probe the state of human respiratory metabolism. Despite some significant challenges in sampling and analysis, exhaled breath remains an ideal medium for metabolomics applications, mostly due to its noninvasiveness, convenience, and nearly limitless availability. Several breath-based assays for endogenous or exogenous gas-phase compounds have been established and used in practice and/or clinical settings. This review provides an overview of breath analysis concepts and unique test methods and their applications. We discuss their physiological production in humans and the development and implementation of related tests separately for the respiratory biomarkers targeted in each test. The article concludes with an outlook on the direction of future respiratory research.
