Abstract: Novel pandemic H1N1 influenza A (H1N1pdm) emerged in 2009, gradually replacing the seasonal H1N1 influenza, and co-existing with H3N2 and B influenza in the epidemic seasons. Human suffering from influenza consumes considerable social medical resources and poses a great challenge to global public health. With the continuous evolution of H1N1pdm genetic molecules for more than ten years, we briefly summarized the H1N1pdm epidemic, viral pathogenicity, host adaptability, biological features, ability to replicate infection, transmission power, sensitive drugs and effective vaccines. Understanding H1N1pdm epidemic, and evolution, was be conducive to raising people's vigilance against the pandemic caused by pathogen variations of novel infectious diseases such as influenza, and to providing a reference for clinical and public health prevention and control.
