The impact of COVID-19 on the nervous system

Abstract: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a new acute respiratory infectious disease, the main manifestations of COVID-19 are respiratory symptoms, but related neurological symptoms have been reported in many literature. The most common symptoms include headache and dizziness, and complications such as cerebrovascular accidents, Guillain-Barre syndrome, acute transmyelitis and acute encephalitis will occur in severe cases, the most common peripheral presentation is hyposmia. It should be note sometimes neurological manifestations may precede the typical clinical manifestations, leading to the possibility of missed diagnosis. Therefore, this paper reviews the effects of COVID-19 on the nervous system.
