The clinical value of diagnosis and treatment guidelines timely updated for prevention and control of COVID-19

Abstract: Analyzed the diagnosis process of a patient infected with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19) who visited relatives in Shenzhen, to clarified the clinical value of the diagnosis and treatment guideline for prevention and control of COVID-19. On January 21, 2020, the patient was absence of fever and no pneumonia imaging findings by CT scanning,it did not meet the diagnostic criteria for suspected cases,so the patient just be required for home quarantine and observation. However, according to the new version of guideline issued by the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China on January 27, 2020, the patient must be required for home quarantine and observation which clinical feature was met the diagnostic criteria for suspected cases, so the missing diagnosis and community transmission were avoided. Therefore, during the outbreak of COVID-19, the diagnosis and treatment guidelines timely updated and published by the National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China were very practical which effectively controlled the epidemic of COVID-19.
