Abstract: Objective To investigate the radiological manifestations of clonorchiasis and its complications. Methods A total of 1567 cases with definitive diagnosis of clonorchiasis were retrospectively analyzed. The CT and MRI manifestations of liver cirrhosis, cholangiectasis, bile duct stones, biliary tract infection, as well as hepatobiliary malignancies were observed and analyzed. Results In the total 1567 cases of clonorchiasis, there were 144 cases of acute infection and 1102 cases of chronic infection. And the other 321 cases showed negative by CT and MRI. The cases with acute infection are manifested as biliary tract infection. And the cases with chronic infection are manifested as biliary tract stones, simplex cholangiectasis, and hepatobiliary malignancies. Conclusion The radiology demonstrates acute stage of clonorchiasis commonly as pericholangitis, which may be complicated by mild dilation of intrahepatic bile duct. And the radiology demonstrates chronic stage of clonorchiasis as bile duct stones as well as slight or moderate dilation of extrahepatic peripheral bile duct, which may be complicated by malignancies. Radiology has important value in detecting and differentiating the complications of clonorchiasis.
