Aims and scope
Founded in November 2016, Electronic Journal of Emerging Infectious Diseases is not only the first national academic journal in the field of emerging infectious diseases in China, but also an internationaljournal available to researchers worldwide and dedicated to publish novel, hypothesis-driven and high-impact original research across the entire spectrum of the field of infectious diseases. The aim of this journal is to prompt and popularize the state-of-the-art advancements concerning the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases to medical practitioners and researchers, and thus improve public practice in prevention and control of infectious diseases worldwide.
We have invited a number of representative figures in the field of infectious diseases worldwide to build a powerful editorial board for this academic journal, including the former Nobel Prize winner (Barry Marshall) and a lot of academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering (e.g., Nanshan Zhong, member of WHO Expert Panel of COVID-19 Response, professor of major respiratory infectious diseases and chronic respiratory diseases; Yunde Hou, medical virologist, the director of the Laboratory of Virology, Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention; Wanqing Liao, medical mycologists and dermatologists, the director of the Shanghai Institute of Medical Mycology). We have published numeroushighly influential worksin the field including the first domestic and global case reports of the radiologic characteristics ofH7N9 and H9N2 infections, expert consensus and guidelines for the diagnosis of major emerginginfectiousdiseases including the current pandemic outbreak of COVID-19. Besides, Barry Marshall, a former Nobel prize winner chose to publicize his prevention strategy to eradicate Helicobacter pylori in our journal to reach more Chinese audience. Also, Yoyo Tu, a Nobel Prize winner for her discoveries concerning novel therapy against Malaria, also shared her lifelong commitment and research efforts to eradicate Malaria in our journal, which has inspired millions. This journal has also been successfully included in various Chinese national certified databases, such as CNKI, Wanfang Database, and Weipu.com.
We will strictly adhere to the requirements of the National Health and Family Planning Commission and the principles of pioneering an innovative and highly visible journal of emerging infectious diseases.We strive to build a high-end platform fostering academic exchanges among the diverse field of the clinical and basic scientific research on infectious diseasesin line with international standards.
